On a hike with friends and family, the evening landed on a new moon. We found a spot in Garibaldi Provincial Park by the lake to capture the milky way, the glacier, and the lake all in one composition. To prepare for this shot, I brought with me various equipment but at the core of it was my DSLR, lens, and a tripod.
The stillness of the water surprised me the most since it even managed to reflect the stars and some of the milky way. Nonetheless, behind this photo was weeks of preparation and the goal of this image is to highlight not only the beauty of nature but of British Columbia, to create a sense of fantasy within reality. Post-process included colour-correction and enhancement in Lightroom and Photoshop, while maintaining a photorealistic product.
